Maps-Practice with NESW directions
In order to be able to read and use a map properly, we need to know and understand the cardinal directions: North, East, South, and West. We will be doing many activities to practice these directions, but here is another resource for students to use at home for extra practice. Please try to play this game twice a week, or until the directions come naturally!
This link will you take you to an online game where students will practice the directions by deciding whether object A is North, East, South, or West of object B. All of the items are shown on a map, with the compass in the corner. The game can be made easier with adding a N, E,S, or W in the right quadrants to help students visualize the directions.
