Primary Resources Project
In the next few weeks, we will be focussing on using primary sources as well as informational text to understand our nation's history. Through social studies and literacy activities, the students will end up creating creating a project folder that compares and contrasts life today to life when our country was just beginning.
This website has PDF images of items that helped form our country in the 1700s, and are primary sources we will be using in class to learn about the Constitution. These images can also be used for homework assignments as well as their final project. Please focus on images 1,3, 8, 10, and 14. To see the images more clearly, please click on the "View PDF" tab underneath each photo.

Timelines
We have been using timelines in order to study people's lives and events that occurred over a period of time. From our studies, we have learned that timelines could be made about people, places (near and far), and events, and that the timelines could be simple or complex. We will continue to be studying them in class, but students can use this resource to get ideas for their own timelines that they will be making for a project.
This website shows a timeline of Walt Disney's life, all of the important things that happened with small amounts of information explaining them. While this website shows a very complex timeline that is interactive, it contains similar information that I want to see in the student's own timelines. Please use this resource as extra help with timelines, and to explore the lives of other famous people!
